Continuation of jewelry organization part 1. Wanted to take of one the drawers from the dresser and store the rest of the jewelry that I wasn't able to hang on the jewelry stand. At first I wanted to use jewelry trays but the drawer was 1/2 inch too short in height. Looked around at a few stores but most only sell plastic containers. I wanted something that would give a bit more of a classy feel. Then looked on Pinterest for some inspiration. From the blog Little Green Notebook, there was a great and simple tip to use velvet to line the inside the drawer so the jewelry will stay in place. Settled on this idea and made a trip to Joann's Fabric. Learn to make your own DIY jewelry liner with the following steps!
- Velvet (I got 3/4 of a yard, depending on the size of your drawer, how much you need will vary)
- Hot Glue gun
Step 1: Measure the inside of your drawer and cut the cardboard to the same size. Cut the velvet, leaving 1 - 2inch to cover the edges of the cardboard.
Step 2: Lay the cardboard (Don't mind the zpizza haha!) on top of the velvet. Fold the excess velvet over the cardboard and hot glue the underside.
Step 3: Pull the velvet tight before gluing it down to the cardboard.
Step 4: Once all four sides have been glued down, flip over it over and you have your jewelry liner.
