ROVER was definitely a close second (and crowd favorite)! Really tried to make it work. But there were a lot of moving parts within the layout option and in the end wanted something that wasn't too cumbersome to manage.
Sharing a little snipbits of our website. Knew that we didn't want one of the generic wedding website makers where it appends your names at the end of it. Since I already had a squarespace account, I just created another website through them! That way we could have a unique domain of our own.
Wanted to added our engagement photos to the website taken by the amazing Vicki Grafton!
We thought this would be good one stop shop for all the wedding information for the guests to look to. We'll send out the information when mailing out the invites but thought this would be an easy reference to look to.
Did some digging and looked up some local fun activities in the area in case folks arrive earlier! I wanted to add some fun local eats as well. Any recommendations?
We hate to ask for anything for our wedding. A good amount of items we already own and think that guests' presence is good enough! We've put a small registry together towards Honeyfund (Helping fund our Honeymoon trip); Target (Who doesn't love Target?!) and West Elm (If we had the room, would furnish our whole place with West Elm items :P )
For our last tab, in case guests had any additional questions/concerns, they can sent an email to us. Also on this page, wanted to add some interactive fun with some polling questions!
Guyyyyyysss, going to be honest with you guys. We didn't accomplish a whole lot this month.
- Hotel Room Booked
Booked our individual room (dog friendly room! hehehe!)
- Tux Selection
Robert selected a suit from The Black Tux and sent inquiries for his groomsmen. I really love their services, the way they package everything to include return label and packaging tape. All you have to do is drop it off at a Fedex location. Making everything so convenient. I think this would be good for the guys cause they can just give their measurements, shirt/coat/pant size, shoe size to a representative and they just get it mailed.
I've been asking some vendors if we can make final payments now instead of later closer to the date. That way we can spread the costs out and won't be leaving hole in our wallet in September.
- Honeymoon Booked!
We have picked KAUAI as our honeymoon location! More on that later!
- Find an officiant
Why is it so hard to find an officiant in Virginia?! Had probably put in 5+ inquiries, I think the most common response back is that Tuckahoe Plantation is too far. :/ We're tempted to find a friend that will be able to say a few words for us for the ceremony. But who?! :P
- Invitation Design
Starting to think of pieces: Invitation Suite (Invitation, Envelope, RSVP, RSVP Envelope, Map, illustration?)
I'm trying to think outside the standard stained wooden boards. Want to try something different but am unsure of what. Thinking of simple signs: Welcome, Escort Card, Table Number Signs
- Cake Tasting
Don't really have a particular flavor in mind. Almost tempted to tell the baker, surprise us! HA. I know, want it to look simple, tier cake. Also thinking of a mini dessert bar?
Confirming rental pieces
Hopefully next month we'll be more productive. How does our 6 month compare to other couples?! Can you think of anything else we should be doing?!
Last week, shared a little take away giftbox for Brides for Jann Marie Bridal’s Pop-up Event in DC. This week, sharing some behind the scene photos. Please excuse the poor iphone quality, nothing compared to the professional ones!
When a bride books an appointment, they are signing up for the ultimate pampered fitting. They got their air and makeup done, eat cake, and share a drink with their best girls. Will be surrounded by florals, sweets, gowns, papers, wedding accessories, and more from perfectly curated wedding vendors!
